Trump reveals a good development regarding
the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations
US President Donald Trump announced that participants in negotiations related to
the Ukrainian crisis are "very close" to reaching an agreement.
Trump's statement came :
while speaking to the media, where he expressed optimism
about the progress made in the talks, despite the continuing challenges
saying:
- "If I can achieve that - it will be a great honor.".
- I think we are very close. We don't have a deadline
- we just want to get it done as fast as we can," he said.
Trump explained that the main goal is to stop the fighting and save military lives.
The US President also reported that his team is currently conducting
negotiations with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
In the latest developments :
the US President confirmed yesterday, Thursday, that it will be difficult for Kiev to
"recover" the Crimean Peninsula that was handed over to Russia without firing a
single shot :
- while Vladimir Zelensky said that Kiev is unable to implement some of
- the American proposals in the plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine
- because it conflicts with the values or constitution of his country
which angered Trump Who said that the intransigence of the leader of the Kiev
regime and the failure to recognize that the Crimean Peninsula is Russian territory
harms peace negotiations with Russia.
Negotiations between Russia :
and Ukraine have seen mixed developments since the conflict began in February
2022.
Despite multiple attempts at a ceasefire
a wide gap remains between the demands of both sides.
While Ukraine insists on restoring all its lands, including the Crimean Peninsula
which it announced its accession to Russia after a popular referendum
for the residents of the peninsula, Moscow rejects any solution that
does not take into account its security interests.
Trump:
Russia made major concessions to settle the crisis in Ukraine
- US President Donald Trump said on Thursday, "Russia has made major
- concessions in the process of settling the conflict in Ukraine
- and does not claim all of Ukrainian territory.".
When asked about the concessions that Russia is making to settle
the conflict in Ukraine peacefully, the US President answered during
his meeting with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Sture in the Oval Office of
the White House: "Ending the war, and stopping controlling the entire country
this is a very big concession.".
Asked whether Russia was blocking the ceasefire agreement
he said:
"I don't think so. I think both of them (Russia and Ukraine]
want peace at this point.. They both want to reach an agreement," he said.
