5 high-collagen :

foods may make you look younger!

Maintaining a youthful appearance is an important goal for many people

especially with the emergence of wrinkles

sagging and gridlock associated with age.

Dr. Dave Riley

chief scientist at Absolute Collagen

revealed that some changes in diet can help to stay younger for longer.

He explained that foods rich in a type of protein, known as collagen

help keep the skin strong and tight.

Collagen is a major ingredient in ligaments and connective tissues

and is rich in wound healing and skin enhancement properties.

Riley said collagen reduces the appearance of wrinkles

and improves skin tissue in general, helping muscle recovery.

The following are 5 high-collagen foods, which Riley is advised to eat:

Chicken :

Riley said chicken is "essential" for collagen production, "amino acids

and minerals we get from chicken, ideal for enhancing collagen action in the body."

Egg White :

Egg whites are another popular source of protein used by gym-goers

but their benefits are not only to improve and heal muscles.

"Egg whites are particularly rich in amino acid called prolin, which is an

essential ingredient of collagen and will help skin glow," Riley explained.

Raspberries :

Berries are defined as a fruit rich in vitamin C, which helps promote collagen

production within the body, according to Dr. Riley.

Garlic :

Garlic is also an "important component of collagen production," Riley said.

He continued:

"It is rich in sulphur compounds that are necessary to form collagen fibres

and keep tissue safe. By adding garlic to your meals

you not only enhance the flavour, but also support a lively skin.

Legumes :

Legumes :

such as beans, lentils and chickpeas, are considered

the "best option" to support collagen.

"Legumes are rich in protein and essential amino acids

and they are very useful to help produce collagen," Riley said.
