A protective confrontation because of the border.
Musk chooses between Texas and Washington
US billionaire Elon Musk praised Texas Governor Greg Abbott's idea
of defending the US border with Mexico, without the help of US federal authorities.
On his page on the social media site X
Abbott shared pictures of the Texas National Guard.
He wrote: "Line control" in the border town of Eagle Pass, promising that
Texas would not abandon efforts to secure the U.S. border with
Mexico even in the absence of President Joe Biden.
Musk commented: "Good!".
Earlier, in commenting on the decision to remove barbed wire fencing from
the border, the US billionaire accused the Biden administration of
actively promoting illegal immigration.
Texas authorities are in conflict with federal authorities over border security
measures. For example, the US administration complained to the country's
Supreme Court against state leadership after the National
Guard blocked federal patrols from reaching the border.
Texas authorities insist the border is not properly secured
resulting in record numbers of illegal immigrants entering the United States.
Washington describes the state's actions as unconstitutional and excessive
because in particular, the law criminalizes what is already prohibited
at the federal level and the Texas authorities insist that
federal legislation in this area does not work.
In recent months
the United States has recorded record growth in illegal
immigration, and last December Border Patrol monitored 302
thousand cases of illegal border crossings, the largest indicator in a month.
