The campaign of former US President Donald Trump considered the new batch of accusations against him an attempt by President Joe Biden's current administration to interfere in the 2024 presidential election.

New indictment against Trump

The federal grand jury has indicted former President Donald Trump on

efforts to overturn the 2020 election, US media said on Tuesday evening.

The media said that :

• Judge Jack Smith's bench had returned

• a closed indictment against an unnamed individual in

• an election-related investigation.

Trump's indictment included 4 charges of :

conspiracy to commit fraud, witness tampering

conspiracy to obstruct formal proceedings and conspiracy to violate citizens' rights.

The former US President

had said that he knew a new indictment would be brought against him.

Donald Trump predicted ;

he would be convicted on federal charges related to the Capitol incursions.

The Court rejected a request :

by the former President for the exclusion of

a prosecutor in the investigation of Georgia's elections

and his proposal to overturn the final report of the special purpose grand jury.
