Legal experts doubt the sincerity of the former president's offer to produce a DNA sample in order to refute E. Jean Carroll's rape allegations.

The Daily Beast reported that Trump eventually agreed last week to

allow his lawyer at one point to obtain a sample comparison of the columnist's black coat dress she claimed she wore during the alleged sexual assault in the mid-1990s.

Legal experts doubt the sincerity of the former president's offer to produce a DNA sample in order to refute E. Jean Carroll's rape allegations.

The Daily Beast reported that Trump eventually agreed last week to

allow his lawyer at one point to obtain a sample comparison of the columnist's black coat dress she claimed she wore during the alleged sexual assault in the mid-1990s.

The offer has not yet been made to Carroll's lawyer

• based on a source who talked with the website.  Legal experts believe it

• is not real because the deadline for the exchange of

• evidence between the parties has already expired

but now Trump's lawyers can tell the jury that DNA was shown but not tested.

• U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan told Trump's lawyer that

• the case was proceeding according to schedule

• and the trial was scheduled to begin on April 25.
