Washington will soon announce the arrival of

Abrams tanks to Ukraine this week.

US sources have revealed that President Joe Biden's administration may be heading to send Abrams tanks to Ukraine, and that an official announcement in this regard could be made within days.

According to the Wall Street Journal

the Biden administration is moving to send a large number of Abrams M-1 tanks to Ukraine, and their delivery may be announced this week.

The paper explained that the move could be part of

a diplomatic understanding between the United States and Germany to encourage the latter to send "Leopard 2" tanks to Ukraine,

or to allow other countries such as Poland to supply Kiev with such tanks.

Earlier

  • the Washington Post reported that
  • the United States could transport about 100 Stryker
  • while Abrams tanks were unlikely to be included in the aid package.

NATO has already received a memo from Russia.

countries as a result of providing Ukraine with weapons

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov indicated that any shipment containing weapons to Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russian forces.

Additionally, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that

NATO :

is arming Ukraine in a way that is "playing with fire."

Russian President Dmitry Peskov's press secretary noted that the pumping of weapons by Ukraine from the West did not contribute to the success of the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and would have a negative impact.

Russian Duma warns West not to supply tanks to Ukraine

The Deputy State Duma of Russia

Mikhail Sheremet, warned that the supply of German tanks to Ukraine would be considered a hostile step, forcing the Russian army to resort to much stronger weapons in the special operation.

Earlier :

  • NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said
  • he was confident that allies would soon reach
  • an agreement on the supply of tanks

  • including Germany's "Leopard", to Ukraine.

The delivery of German tanks to Ukraine would be a military step

and this would give our military the right to use much stronger weapons in the special operation, which the enemy does not even know," Sheremet said.

According to him

NATO is stubbornly pushing European countries to

open a military confrontation with Russia

saying :

  • The United States is ready to abandon not only Ukraine
  • and achieve economic and political gains.

We see the Germans resisting pressure because

they remember how their recent military offensive against Russia ended.

Germany has so far refrained from delivering

"Leopard 2"

tanks to Ukraine, but in recent days pressure on German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has increased markedly, and several EU Heads of State have publicly called for a decision on the deliveries.

NATO had previously received a memo from Russia.
