Hollywood stars pay Kirstie Alley heartfelt tributes:

Golden heart, sweet soul, thankful I knew her


The two-time Emmy-winning actor best known for playing Rebecca Howe in the NBC comedy series Cheers died afte
r a battle with cancer. She was 71.



Cheers co-star Ted Danson, who also played Alley, said:

  • Today, while flying, I did something I hardly ever do.
  • I've seen an old episode of Cheers.
  • In that episode, Tom Berenger asks Kirsty to marry him.
  • who, despite desperately wanting to say yes, keeps saying no
  • Kirsty was really great at it.


Her ability to play a woman on

the brink of a nervous breakdown

was simultaneously hilarious and heartbreaking.



When I recorded this scene 30 years ago, you made me laugh.

and you made me laugh today as much. When I got off the plane

I heard Kirsty was dead.

I'm both incredibly sad and appreciative of all the times you made me laugh.

 Send my love to her children.

They are aware of their mother's good nature. I will miss her. "



John Travolta, who starred in 1989 film Look Who's Talking with Alley, said, "Kirstie was one of the most special relationships I've ever had. I love you, Kirsty.I'm confident we'll cross paths once more.


Tim Allen said:

A sweet spirit passes in Kristie Alley.

Sad and sad news. prayer for all members of her family .



In "Cheers," Rhea Perlman, who co-starred with Alley, said:


Kirsty was a special, admirable person, and a great friend.. Her joy in existence was limitless. We became friends almost immediately when I joined the Cheers team.



I loved the kids and my kids

  1. too. We had sleep in her house
  2. with the search
  3. for treasures she created.


I had huge parties for Halloween and Easter, and I invited the entire show crew and their families. She wanted everyone to feel included.


She loved her children deeply.

  • I've never met anyone like her.

  • I'm overjoyed that I met her.

  • I will miss her very much .



Kelsey Grammer, star of Alley's Cheers, said:


I always believed that grieving for a public figure was special

but I would say I loved it.


Her sons issued a statement stating:

  • To all our friends, all over the world
  • we are saddened to teach you that our amazing
  • after a fight with cancer, my strong and loving mother passed away.
  • discovered only recently.


She was surrounded by her closest family and fought so hard, leaving us sure of her endless joy in living and any adventures ahead.


As she was creative on screen

she was a more wonderful mother and grandmother.


We appreciate the excellent medical staff at Moffett Cancer Center for their care.



Our mother's enthusiasm and passion for life

her children :

her grandchildren and her many animals, not to mention her eternal joy in creativity, have been unparalleled and leave us with the inspiration to live life as fully as I did.
