bombing received implementation instructions from PKK

Turkish security announced on Monday that those involved in the Istanbul bombing had admitted that it had carried out the Independence Street attack under the instructions of the Kurdistan Workers' Party.

At 2:50 a.m

we arrested Ahlam al-Bashir

  • a Syrian national, in the house where
  • she hid after carrying out
  • the operation in Istanbul's Essenler area.

Turkish Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu said :

Whoever carried out the attack came from northern Syria, took instructions from the Kurdish YPG/PKK in the northern Syrian city of Ain al-Arab/Kobani, and was planning to escape to Greece.

He added:

We monitored a call in which the speaker directed the cell's elements to kill the perpetrator of the attack in order to prevent the circumstances of the attack from being known. We arrested a person in this cell charged with killing the attacker .

Al-Bashir's dreams had entered Turkey from Afrin illegally a week earlier and she had been trained as a special intelligence member of the Kurdistan Workers' Party.
