Attacker of Republican Senator Ted Cruz arrested

Houston law enforcement officials issued a statement saying they arrested a 33-year-old man for assaulting Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) during the Houston Astros' victory parade.


Cruz lives in the Houston area

and attended several World Series games including Game 6 on Sunday when he won the Astros.



The Houston Police Department made one arrest during today's victory parade," the Houston Police Department said in a statement.


Beer can was hurled at Americans by a 33-year-old guy.

The statement continued :

A wide range of videos appeared on social media on Monday showing boos to Astros Cruz fans, who were alongside his family and friends at the tournament parade.

In one video

a passerby can be seen on the show throwing a can of beer at Cruz, who blocks it with his hand.


Security authorities and security details then search Cruz to find out which fan threw drinks on Cruz.



Ted Cruz again shoots the attacker, a knockout of the grounds:

"I'm grateful for the clown who threw his white paw and had noodles for his arm."


Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) shot the thug who attacked him at the Houston Astros victory parade and landed a knockout. Houston law enforcement arrested Joseph Arcidikono, 33, and charged him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.


In a statement, the Houston Police Department stated:

One individual was detained by the Homeland Security Service during today's victory march. U.S. Senator Ted Cruz was being thrown a beer can as he floated in the 2400 block of Smith Street by a 33-year-old guy.


The senator might get struck in the chest or neck by beer.

I appreciate how quickly the Houston Police Department and Capitol Police responded.


"I'm also grateful that the clown who threw his white paw had vermicelli on his arm."


According to ABC:

  •  judge set Arcidiacono's bail at $40,000
  • but the public defense demanded $100 instead
  • arguing that she questioned

the charge because she did not believe

the cans met the requirements of being considered a lethal weapon.


She cited a criminal appeal case in Texas in 2003 that

required a deadly weapon with more than a hypothetical ability to cause death or serious bodily injury.


The lawyer said that

Arcidicono stood about 20 feet from Cruz and that the officer's statement in the case did not meet those requirements.
