Witness - Chinese military robotic dogs disembarked by drones in battle
A one-minute video posted on Weibo
a Chinese blogging website, showed a Chinese drone carrying an armed robot dog and placing it on the battlefield in preparation for action, according to a report by The War Zone.
It remains unclear at present whether the clip resulted from Chinese military exercises.
Dropping a robot dog on a rooftop
The video shows a drone approaching the roof of a building in an undescribed urban area while carrying an armed robotic dog underneath, and after the drone downs the robot on the roof, flying away.
The robot then stands from its folded position and begins to verify its new location using what appears to be a light Chinese machine gun placed on its back.
Weibo's account is taken from Kestrel Defense Blood-Wing
- which appears
- to be directly linked to
- the Chinese company Kestrel Defense.
Here's what the organization said about the video:
"War dogs coming down from the sky
air attack and Red Wing Forward heavy marching aircraft offer dogs a combat mechanism that can be inserted directly behind the enemy to launch a sudden attack or can be placed on the enemy's surface to occupy command heights to suppress firepower.
as ground forces launch a three
attack using a dimensional pincer on the foe inside the structure.
This letter indicates that the coupling of robotic robot dogs and drones has been developed for use in attack operations in urban areas that can be dangerous for soldiers.
These areas are notoriously difficult to monitor and infiltrate because they consist of high-rise buildings and complex structures.
Other videos of Weibo's account show different robot dogs also supporting operations used in similar urban environments.
However, it is difficult to measure the exact use of this advanced technology as technical specifications about both the robot and the drone are not disclosed in the video, making it hard to establish the precise usage of these technologies.
Classification remains a mystery
At present, the actual designation of the drone remains a mystery, although it resembles one of the many drones produced by China.
The only thing obvious is that the dog robot weapon resembles the light Chinese machine gun QPP-97 (QBB-97).
Another factor that remains unclear is
how can any armed robot dog act in actual combat?
- That doesn't mean it can't be a useful equipment.
- In any combat scenarios
- Especially if they can be landed by drones to the heart of the event.
The proliferation of drones means that army personnel can put the robot dog in a combat site
even in high security areas. This endeavour will be carried out efficiently and without endangering any life. Could this be the future of war?
