A police officer allegedly witnessed a Republican candidate for a board of trustees of an Arizona university system masturbating in his truck near a kindergarten, leading to his arrest for public sexual debauchery.

Randy Kaufman was arrested on 4 October, but as soon as news emerged of his arrest on Tuesday, he decided to stop his campaign.

The County Community College Police allegedly witnessed Kaufman masturbate while running for the Maricopa County College Board of Directors.

"I was violated,"

Kaufman told the arrest officer during the arrest.

According to the complaint, the encounter began when a Maricopa County Community Colleges police officer walked to Kaufman's parked car and noticed that he was wearing his trousers.

The police report stated:

[Kaufman] seemed to look at the mobile phone with one hand.

When I saw Kaufman, who was exposed with his pants down the middle of his thighs and his bare penis standing up straight, I immediately became alarmed.

Kaufman was manipulating his genitals in a masturbating manner.

The officer claimed that at first, Kaufman did not appear to notice him, but he was in sight of a passing cyclist and a pre-school where the children were playing outdoors. The policeman alleged that Kaufman regretted the conduct when confronted.

"I'm sorry,"

Kaufman said, according to the report. "I f * * ked. I'm really nervous. "

According to the report

  • Kaufman, who told investigators that he had 27 years of
  • experience as an officer in the Arizona Department of Correction
  • claimed that he was unaware that the nursery was only a few feet away.

"Will you put that in the report?"

 The officer said Kaufman asked.

"Don't you see how worrying this is?" According to the report, the officer responded. "that there is

Children nearby, people traveling on bicycles and in cars where they may observe

what you're doing? "

Kaufman stated that he wanted to "protect our children [from] the progressive left" in a Facebook post dated May.

Despite Kaufman's accusation of public obscenity, 12 Phoenix News said that because of his proximity to pre-school, Kaufman could be tried for a crime.

Maricopa County Registration Office alleged

That despite the accusation, it was too late to get Kaufman's name from the ballot because some individuals had already cast early ballots.

Kaufman did not mention the arrest in a statement about his stalled campaign, but promised that "fighting will not stop to protect the Constitution of the United States and the values that make America the world's greatest nation."
