A Indonesian official announced on Sunday morning that the death toll from the stampede at Indonesia's football match had reached 174. 


Emile Dardak, deputy governor of East Java province, told local media that the death toll from the stampede at a football match in Malang reached 174.



On Saturday evening 


Indonesian police announced that 129 people had died and 180 injured following a riot following a derby match in the stadium east of Java Island.


Information confirmed that Arima supporters clashed with Persebaya Surabaya Jawi fans after Arima's 3-2 defeat at the match in Malang Regency, Bejawa.


Officials also explained that the riots broke out when thousands of Arrema fans rushed onto the field after losing their team


while Persebaya's players immediately left the field.


However, many of Arima's players who were still on the field were also attacked.


Police added that most of the dead were killed because of a crowd scramble during the game.
