President Donald Trump's 12-year-old personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, believes Trump may have disclosed top secret information while touring the world while in office.
Cohen responded on TikTok on Monday to a recent Washington Post article detailing how Trump would bring unregulated boxes of sensitive documents with him on international flights and store them in hotel rooms, even in countries believed to be enemies of the United States.
The Post was also reported by Stephanie Grisham, who served as Trump's press secretary, that documents often "simply disappear."
Cohen stated in TikTok:
"Let me be very clear, bearing in mind that I know this" Mandarin Mussolini "well. Donald doesn't take boxes of materials around the world for no reason whatsoever. He took it for outrageous reasons ".
He later said, "I stand firm when I say that Donald wants to use this to hold the country hostage." "This is his goal. His goal is that he knows his ass is in the mill right now. He knows that he cooked food, that he will use this information, that he looks for everything we know, that he has already given it, but there is definitely more. "
Trump may try to use classified intelligence, according to Cohen, to "make sure he doesn't spend the rest of his normal life behind bars for treason."
He has previously proposed the theory that the former President planned to use the confidential records he stored at his residence in Mar-a-Lago as a "bargaining chip" in the event of charges or imprisonment.
"The second they handcuffed him, he would turn around and say:
- 'You don't seem to understand. I have documents showing
- for example, the location of our nuclear launchers
- or other information - sensitive national security information, "he said.
Cohen imagined a scenario in which Trump might threaten to ask his followers to tell Russia or Iran the top secret information. At TikTok on Monday, Cohen also made the following prediction: "Indictments will be issued soon."
Cohen has a history of attacking Trump and making exaggerated claims about the former North Korean leader
- and also claimed to CNN that the former leader may have kept "love letters" from Kim Jong Un among newspapers at his residence.
- Cohen pleaded guilty to crimes such as tax evasion, inappropriate campaign finance, and bank fraud in 2018
- and was later sentenced to three years' imprisonment. In February 2019, the New York Supreme Court suspended his license.
Cohen's allegations come as Trump is under fire for classified documents taken by the FBI after searching the former president's residence
- in Mar-a-Lago earlier this month. In addition
- Trump is subject to four lawsuits
- three civil investigations
three criminal investigations, and an indictment against the Trump Organization for alleged involvement in a tax evasion conspiracy.
Cohen filed a lawsuit against Trump, demanding $20 million in damages for his time in prison and lying to Congress about Trump's dealings.
