Perry Hopper Jr.: Former Trump campaign official charged with first-degree sexual assault

The co-chairman of Donald Trump's 2016 campaign in Alabama has been charged with first-degree sexual abuse.

Perry Oliver Hooper Jr., a former Alabama lawmaker and son of Perry Hooper Sr., the state's former chief justice, is charged with felonies in connection with an unknown incident on August 16.

In an official statement, representatives of the Alabama Republican Party denounced "sexual assault and abuse" in all its forms and said they would "monitor this case closely during the course of the court proceedings."

Hooper Jr. was reportedly arrested on Tuesday by U.S. pedestrians. A $15,000 guarantee was imposed.

The allegations against Hooper are vague, and the case records cannot yet be accessed through Alabama's online court system. Coleman claimed that the alleged event took place on Commerce Street No. 100 on August 16, 2022, around 8 p.m.

United States Charterers Hooper was arrested on Tuesday. His bond was set at $15,000 when he was brought to the Montgomery County Detention Facility at 11:56 a.m.

Hopper Jr. attended the 2016 Republican National Convention as Alabama's roving delegate.
