Michael Cohen believes Trump will blackmail

the Justice Department using the threat that

he will reveal secrets to foreign powers

Former Donald Trump lawyer and "moderator" Michael Cohen said he would not rule out the former president's threat to leak secrets to foreign countries if the Justice Department tried to charge him during an appearance on MSNBC on Sunday morning.

On "The Sunday Show,"

Michael Steel questioned Cohen about his belief that Trump brought sensitive documents to Mar-a-Lago after losing the 2020 election.

Host Steele asked "based on everything you know about him, why do you think he wants to keep these top secret documents in Mar-a-Lago."

Cohen replied:

  1. He'll use it as a get out of prison with a free card.
  2. It is a way of blackmailing America
  3. To turn around to say if you put me in jail if you went behind me.

Even he will say his children

I will have loyal supporters who you do not know who have copies of information that may be, and again that is my guess, I will take these documents, I will release them to Iran, to China, to North Korea, to Russia. "

Last week

  • Cohen predicted that in light of
  • the Supreme Court paving the way
  • for New York prosecutors to obtain
  • Trump's income taxes, Trump would be jailed.

Cohen even suggested that Trump order himself

a "custom-made jumpsuit."

Cohen said:

One thing I can turn around and tell you

it should start is talking to someone about getting a custom-made jumpsuit, because it doesn't look good to him .

Cohen, of course, is not neutral on this.

  • The now-dismissed lawyer is serving a sentence of
  • house arrest after pleading guilty to several counts of
  • campaign finance violations and fraud again in 2018.
  • Since then, he has become one of Trump's most vocal critics.

  • He even testified against Trump before Congress in 2019.

The Supreme Council had previously ruled that

the court would not prevent a grand jury in New York

from obtaining Trump's tax returns. There has also been news recently about the ability of House Committee J6 to obtain Trump's tax returns from the IRS.

Prosecutors state that treasure records could give investigators new tools to determine whether Trump lied to lenders or tax officials, before or after he took office.

Prosecutors are looking for

inconsistencies in paperwork. Duncan Levin

a former federal prosecutor who worked on a wide range of white-collar cases like Vance's asset forfeiture boss, said.

"These documents are a very important part of the jigsaw puzzle,"

Levine said.

It is unclear whether Trump's records will provide any evidence of an uncertain crime at this time. Trump continues to claim that he has not broken any laws, but has made extraordinary efforts to keep his records out of the hands of the attorney general and appoint the public.
