The movie "Minions" ignites the box office for $108.5 million.

 Families have strongly accepted to watch this weekend's new film Minions in North American theaters.

• The Rise of Gru" generated an estimated $108.5 million in ticket sales from 4,391 screens in North America.

• By the end of the Fourth of July holiday on Monday, it is likely to generate more than $127.9 million.

The film is on track to become the biggest ever opening on the end of the Fourth of July holiday, breaking the previous record set by "Transformers: Dark of Moon", which earned $115.9 million in its first four days in 2011.

The motion picture film "Miniones: Rise of Guru" generated total sales in 61 markets worldwide of $202.2 million as of Sunday.
