After weeks of losing her libel case against her divorce Johnny Depp, American actress Amber Heard is in trouble, facing a potential legal battle in Australia.

In details, the British Daily Mail revealed that Australian authorities had announced an investigation into actress Amber Heard for lying in an illegal dog import case.

Hurd, 36, became the subject of an "ongoing" investigation by a court in Australia for "lying under oath" in an illegal import of dogs.

This case dates back to 2015 when Heard was charged with two counts, one of illegal import of animals, and the second of falsification of travel documents, after taking two dogs to the country during her visit to Johnny Depp during the filming of the fifth part of the "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" series.

The court also accused Heard of violating Australia's strict quarantine and biosecurity laws

although the case was closed in April 2016, when Heard admitted to falsifying travel documents at the Gold Coast Court in Australia.

This is a breach of Australia's strict quarantine and biosecurity laws, the Australian authorities are afraid of transporting imported dogs to Australia, which is considered a national wealth.

The Australian Department of Agriculture, Water and Environment confirmed that the case was still "ongoing", noting that it was investigating sworn lying during court proceedings over the illegal import of dogs in Australia in 2015

The "defamation" case returns to the forefront after Amber Heard appealed the verdict

The legal team of star Amber Heard appealed against her sentence in the "defamation" suit, filed by star Johnny Depp on his divorce.

  1. Heard and Johnny Depp's legal teams met in the Fairfax
  2. Virginia courtroom with Judge Penny Azcarett
  3. and instead of finalizing a settlement between the parties

Heard's lead lawyer, Ellen Bridehoft, sought to establish a briefing schedule and more for her client's proposed appeal.

  • Judge Penny Azcaret of the Court of Virgina told counsel Ellen Bridehoft that if she wished to appeal the seven-person jury's verdict
  • counsel would have to file applications with the Court
  • and Azcaret informed Heard's legal team that she had to submit a $8.35 million bail with 6 per cent annual interest on any appeal formally proceeding.

Ellen Bridehoft explained that Heard would appeal the judgement, could not pay Depp, and added that she was a right holder and would never give up.

The jury found Amber Heard and Depp responsible for defamation in lawsuits against each other, and awarded Depp $10 million in damages and $5 million in punitive damages. Amber Heard was awarded $2 million in damages and non-payment of punitive damages.
