Rep. Madison Cawthorne has repeatedly proved that he enjoys breaking road rules.
The Daily Mail obtained a video showing the controversial actor, paralysed in a car crash in 2014, breaking every rule on the road in a powerful Mercedes C that was not modified for use,
The incident filmed in the video occurred in 2019 just months before its submission to North Carolina's 11th Congressional District.
Cawthorne, 26, faces legal repercussions due to his traffic offences, with trial dates looming over his latest series of offences, which include multiple cases of maximum speed and driving with a revoked license.
In the video, Cawthorn is seen gleefully showing how he planned to equip the controls so he could manage the pedals with a stick - pulled out of the fence and shrunk using the "trusted old Zero Tolerance knife" in the video. The video was posted on his Instagram page three years ago.
He appears to have lost partial control of the car while driving away with one hand, drawing attention to his activities.
Cawthorne's actions in the video were reckless and dangerous, according to Lindsey Granados, a senior lawyer at Wiley Nickel law firms, a Democrat running for Congress in a different North Carolina district.
"Using a stick, just a normal old stick, to run fuel pedals and brakes is reckless and shows total disregard for the law and safety of others," Granados told the Daily Mail.
Granados added: "I've been watching in the news his frequent encounters with North Carolina law enforcement."
Clearly, in this case, he may be driving in Italy based on the video address and the vineyard in the background. I don't know that anybody in the states can necessarily hold them legally responsible for this because there is no judicial authority.
"But common sense will tell you that this is not a good idea."
The video mocked the Cawthorne actor. "Rumors are real," he said. Congressman Cawthorne is a moving driver.
Cawthorne had been in a wheelchair since 2014 when he was a passenger in a car that crashed after his close driver, Bradley Ledford, fell asleep at the time.
They were in Florida for spring break at the time. Cawthorne, who was sitting with his feet on the dashboard, suffered serious injuries, including a broken T11 spine that resulted in partial paralysis.
Cawthorne claims that the newly released video was filmed at the five-star luxury resort of L'Andana in Tuscany, Italy and that he complains about his rental car.
Regrets that he did not order a Mercedes C with manual controls as he drove past one in a parking lot.
"It's something I always wanted to drive but I didn't ask for with manual controls because we were supposed to get more unpleasant cars," Cawthorne says. "Since there are no manual controls, we'll see if we can find a good old-fashioned stick."
- Smiling Cawthorn adds, "I've got a trusted Zero Tolerance knife here."
- It makes some small cracks in the stick so it has the "perfect handle on it."
- Well, the launch was controlled, and we got the stick, let's see what we can do with this bad boy. Here we go
- "Cawthorne bragged, speeding away in the car. Let's get started. '
"It's really hard with one hand," he exclaims because he "loses [control of] the back end of the car before smiling and saying," This is so much fun, "he can be heard saying.
The only thing that limits us from a good life is our attitude and our lack of imagination. A lot of fun took this winery by storm and ripping off beautiful dirt roads. Cawthorne writes in the text accompanying the video.
The upgrade from car service was a wonderful wink from God. So, skinzerotoleranceknives is always my trusted companion for adventure.
"I do not in any way advocate driving people without the appropriate equipment needed on open roads. Cars are weapons and must be treated with respect in honour of our fellow human beings." Cawthorne preaches, in direct contradiction to the very obvious. Performance.
The dismissed caseworker filed a complaint against Cawthorne, claiming that she was denied leave after her husband suffered a heart attack and that the congressman closed all but one of North Carolina's voter outreach facilities.
According to leaked images, Cawthorn was seen at a party while he was likely drunk and dressed in women's underwear, and a recorded phone call with a former co-worker was launched in recent weeks by the political group PAC American Muckrakers aka Fire Madison Cawthorn.
The dismissed caseworker filed a complaint against Cawthorne, noting that she was denied leave after her husband suffered a heart attack and that the congressman closed all but one voter outreach center in North Carolina.
A new blow just fell against me, "he tweeted last week, explaining:" Years ago, in this video, I was dealing with a friend, trying to be funny. "
