American actress Amber Heard was questioned after testifying in the defamation case instituted against her by American actor Johnny Depp, with the latter's lawyers questioning her for sexually assaulting her with a bottle of liquor.

Depp sued Heard in Fairfax County Court, Virginia, over an op-ed she wrote in December 2018 in the Washington Post, describing herself as a "public figure representing domestic violence."

  • Depp's lawyers said the article exposed their client to defamation, although he was never named. The trial is now in its fifth week.
  • Depp's lawyer, Camille Vázquez, questioned Heard about a variety of incidents in which she said she had been assaulted by Depp.
  • Interrogation was particularly intense during a legal battle in Mars2015 between couples in Australia, shortly after their marriage

while Depp was filming a fifth film called "Pirates of the Caribbean".

Heard alleges that she was sexually assaulted during that altercation. On the other hand, Depp says that he was the victim, and that he lost the tip of his middle finger when Heard threw a vodka bottle at him.

Vázquez wondered why Heard did not seek medical care, although she said that her feet were injured by broken glass and that she was bleeding after the attack.

Vázquez added: "You're the one who trespassed on someone with a bottle in Australia, isn't that right, Ms. Heard?"

Heard replied, "I didn't count on Johnny in Australia."

Vázquez then wondered why Heard had written a series of words of love for Depp in the months after her assault.

American star Johnny Depp appeared for the fourth day in court in Virginia, in his ex-wife Amber Heard's allegation of her violence.

Heard's lawyers are expected to continue to question Depp during their interrogation, and have so far focused on Depp's alcohol intake and drug abuse, and violent interactions with Heard during their relationship.

  • Heard's lawyers allege that Depp had physically and sexually abused her
  •  and that his denial of those facts was irrelevant, as he was intoxicated and often fainted.
  • Heard's lawyers noted Depp's history of destroying hotel rooms
  • as well as the time he smashed a bathroom lamp holder during an argument with Heard.

Depp also faces a lawsuit filed by a member of a filming crew alleging that the actor assaulted the crew in 2018.

The jury saw dozens of texts sent by Depp to his friends regarding his alcohol use, drug abuse and differences with his then wife, as well as letters of regret and remorse sent to Heard and her father.
