Jane Psaki closes the conspiracy theory promoted by Fox News by pointing out that Trump started it

US President Joe Biden has set up an Orwellian "Ministry of Truth" to censor individuals online in order to bombard them with democratic propaganda in the hope of forcing people to agree to democratic principles.

There was a strange conspiracy theory going on online in correctly oriented conservative spaces.

US President Joe Biden has set up an Orwellian "Ministry of Truth" to censor individuals online in order to bombard them with democratic propaganda in the hope of forcing people to agree to democratic principles.

Fox News team member Peter Ducey commented on the Department of Homeland Security's recently announced misinformation board, which has been particularly heavily criticized by those who support the right wing of U.S. politics.

Since then, Alejandro Mayorkas, Secretary of Homeland Security, has continued to explain the usefulness of the new branch, explaining that the Council will focus heavily on dissuading and minimizing the impact of foreign disinformation campaigns, rather than on anyone Republican in the United States who might be engaged in it.

Mayorkas said in an interview on Sunday that the Council was no more than a "small working group within the Department of Homeland Security" that was seeking to establish healthy and appropriate practices to respond quickly to foreign disinformation campaigns, as well as "communicate those best practices to operators." Mayorkas specifically used misinformation about immigration to the United States that potential immigrants find online as well as misinformation from Russia as examples.

Given all the previous context, Ducey questioned Psaki on Monday, asking: "Does the President know that the Department of Homeland Security is forming this misinformation board?"

"Well, Peter," Psaki replied, "I think I'll notice, and I'm not sure if this is in your reports yet, but this is a continuation of the work done under the previous administration, under the Trump administration, to take steps to address misinformation, to address the use of misinformation in helping smugglers stimulate the movement of more migrants across the border."

So, for anyone who may be concerned about increasing migrants to the border, this is the kind of device that works to address misinformation, and again, the continued work of the Department of Homeland Security in 2020, something that we are 're-applauding currently,' Psaki noted.

"But, just in terms of what the President wants from this, do the people in this forum want to start censoring information that doesn't benefit him?" Ducey doubted as well.

"Well, let me clarify exactly what this forum is doing or what work they are doing," Psaki stated. "In their announcement, made publicly available on the DHS website to anyone who wants to read a quote," The primary task is to create best practices to ensure that efforts are made to understand and respond to misinformation in ways that protect privacy, civil rights, civil liberties and the right to freedom of expression.
