Hillary Clinton says Judge Alito's project
will kill and subjugate women
A leaked draft Supreme Court opinion on abortion, which would overturn the landmark Supreme Court decision "Roe v. Wade," would "kill and subjugate women," Hillary Clinton said in a tweet Tuesday.
"This decision is a direct attack on the dignity, rights and life of women, not to mention decades of settled law," the former foreign minister tweeted.
If the 67-page
draft rule is issued as a final opinion by the Supreme Court, it would effectively overturn federal guarantees of abortion and give states control over access to abortion.
Written by Conservative Justice Samuel Alito
he concluded that the Supreme Court's landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade decision establishing a federal right to abortion, as well as Planned Parenthood's 1992 decision against Casey, had no constitutional basis.
- Politico reviewed the paper and is "very sure of the validity of the draft.
- " The Supreme Court has since verified the validity of the project,
- Hilary made headlines earlier this week for the dress she wore at the Met Gala.
Met Gala is not only for celebrities;
Hilary wore a maroon off-the-shoulder dress
by Joseph Altozara on the red carpet.
- Hillary's gown had long sleeves
- elegant folds, and poignant details
- the names of the American women
- who inspired her were sewn.
Names such as Abigail Adams
Harriet Tubman and Eleanor Roosevelt were among the 60 historical figures honored, although Hillary joked to Vogue on her way as she could have "filled the whole outfit" with names. Clinton went for a glamorous look at the event, with a pink lip, full thick hair and gold earrings.
Designer Joseph Altozara revealed Hillary's clothing message for this year's theme, in America
An Anthology of Fashion.
For better or worse, everything you wear is thoroughly dissected and analyzed so that you have to be very thoughtful about the choices you make," Altozara said.
"Obviously
I was thinking about making it look great, but I was also thinking about the story you're going to tell through this dress
and how you're going to say that when people ask her about it.
I wanted that story to be something I felt a personal relationship with. "
The former Secretary of State's red evening dress was a dramatic contrast to the dazzling outfit she wore at the 2001 ceremony, Jacqueline Kennedy: The White House Years
which was titled Jacqueline Kennedy:
The White House Years. On her recent visit, Hilary opted for a leopard print evening dress with a glittery large brown shawl and a splash of glittering jewellery pieces.
